The City of Riverview is currently hiring four (4) full-time police offers and creating an eligibility list for future police officers. The detailed qualifications are available at the Police Department page on the City of Riverview's website.
Qualifications must include, at a minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Such person shall have obtained an associate degree recognized by the state department of education prior to employment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean criminal record.
A competitive wage package is offered, with salary ranging from $38,795 - $66,043. Also included is a gun allowance, clothing & cleaning allowance, shift premium, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and longevity. We also offer a competitive benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurances, and 401(a) retirement plan with a retiree healthcare plan.

To create a profile and schedule a test for these positions, please go to https://www.empco.net/testing/ and follow the instructions. There is a fee to take the examination; however, the results are accepted by all participating police departments in Michigan. Candidates must have a valid test score or have tested by 12/31/2020 to be eligible.
It is not a requirement to take the Empco Examination to apply or receive consideration of your application.
